We’re planning a new 230-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in southern Saskatchewan to help strengthen Saskatchewan’s power system as the province grows and new sources of power generation come online.

Project Details

The project will connect the new Drinkwater Switching Station near Belle Plaine to the existing Coteau Creek Switching Station. The transmission line will be approximately 210 kilometres long.

We Want Your Feedback

Public engagement is important to us.

We’ve identified several potential route options for the new transmission line. At this stage, each option is shown within a 300-metre-wide planning corridor to provide flexibility as studies are completed and feedback is gathered. The final transmission line right-of-way will be 40 metres wide.

We’re seeking input from Rightsholders, Indigenous communities, landowners, municipalities, stakeholders and community members to help us better understand the area and identify potential concerns and opportunities.

Your feedback, along with technical studies, environmental and archeological reviews and land use considerations, will help us select a preferred route and reduce potential impacts wherever possible.

What We’re Looking for Feedback On

As we learn more about the project area, we’d like to hear from you about:

  • The proposed transmission line route options
  • Environmental, wildlife and heritage resources
  • Existing and future infrastructure in the area
  • Potential project impacts and how they can be reduced
  • Local knowledge and land use considerations
  • Individuals, groups or organizations we should engage with
  • Any questions or concerns you would like to share
