FAQs
Why is this project needed?
More electricity will be generated in south‑central Saskatchewan in the coming years as new wind and solar projects are added. At the same time, existing generation in the region will continue to supply power as part of Saskatchewan’s electricity mix.
This project will help strengthen our transmission system so electricity can be moved reliably from where it’s generated to the homes, businesses and communities that need it.
Where will the new transmission line be built?
SaskPower is still in the planning stage. We’ve identified several potential route options between our Coteau Creek and Swift Current Switching Stations.
At this early stage, each option is shown within a wider planning corridor. As we complete studies and gather feedback, we’ll narrow the options down to a preferred route.
How can landowners, rightsholders and community members provide input?
Early input is important. Feedback helps us understand what matters most to those who live, work and use land in the area.
We’re inviting feedback on route options, environmental or land‑use considerations, potential impacts and anything else we should be aware of. Opportunities to share input include open houses, feedback forms and direct conversations with our project team. We’ll continue to share updates as the project moves forward.
